Region 10 Tribal Programs

Region 10 Clean Air Act Tribal Program Funding

Summary

Clean Air Act (CAA) grant funding is available for federally recognized tribes and tribal consortia within Region 10.

In previous years, approximately $2.25 million has been available for individual awards that typically range from $20,000 to $250,000. Funding priority will be based upon sufficient evidence of an ongoing air pollution concern and tribal capacity to address it.

Nearly all of Region 10's grant funding is awarded to assure base funding for federally recognized Region 10 tribes and consortia who have established eligibility under CAA Section 105 and have existing air grants, are currently performing CAA Section 103 projects, or with whom DITCAs have been negotiated and are being implemented. For that reason, we have very limited funding for new projects and initial air quality assessment needs.

  • FY2020 proposals for new tribal air programs were due February 17, 2020.
  • Applications from current grantees were due March 2, 2020.

See complete funding announcement below for more information.

About Clean Air Act Tribal Grants

Sections 103 and 105 of the Clean Air Act allow EPA to provide grant support to tribes to help build tribal knowledge and increase tribes' capacity to manage air quality issues.
