Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Training Module about Solid Waste Programs

This training module focuses on EPA's efforts in two areas:

  • Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) - garbage that is managed by our local governments is known as municipal solid waste.
  • Industrial Solid Waste - garbage excluded from hazardous waste regulation but not typically collected by local governments. (This category includes domestic sewage and other wastewater treatment sludge, demolition and construction wastes, agricultural and mining residues, combustion ash, and industrial process wastes)

Access other training modules that provide overviews of other specific RCRA regulatory topics here.
