The 32.5-acre Baird and McGuire Superfund Site, located in Holbrook, Massachusetts, addresses VOC, SVOC, and arsenic contamination from a chemical mixing and batching plant that operated between 1912 and 1983. South Street and residences border the site to the west, the Cochato River borders the site to the east, and woodlands border the site to the north and south. Excavation and onsite incineration of contaminated soils was completed in 1997. A pump and treat system, that initially treated water from the excavation and incineration, now operates to remediate contaminated groundwater.
