Renewable Fuel Standard Program

Notice of Data Availability for the Proposed Renewables Enhancement and Growth Support Rule

On this page:

Rule Summary

On December 2, 2016, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a Notice of Data Availability (NODA) that will make additional data available for comment on the ethanol flex fuel (EFF) provisions in the Renewables Enhancement and Growth Support (REGS) rule which was published in the Federal Register on November 16, 2016. These data are contained in a report that was prepared for EPA by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) which compared test data on the volatility of higher level ethanol blends to that estimated by the EFF volatility compliance tool proposed in the REGS rule. The NODA requests comment on this report and how the proposed EFF volatility compliance tool might be modified to better estimate the effect of natural gasoline on the volatility of ethanol fuel blends.
