Internal Stakeholder Engagement for Renewable Projects

A photo of a group meeting.Garnering internal stakeholder buy-in for a renewable energy project is often one of the most important and challenging steps in an institution’s solar development process.

The Green Power Partnership is focused on providing examples and solutions for developing and implementing strategies for engaging with critical stakeholders who drive the solar deployment process forward. It is important to determine how to best define a solar project’s narrative with colleagues and recruit them as fellow change agents within the context of a solar deployment strategy, how to generate buy-in by ensuring all stakeholder groups are provided the information and data they need, and how to convey the value proposition of your solar project to senior leaders and financial officers.

EPA is developing resources that offer insight into how companies and institutions have started the discussion around solar deployment, the information and key actors involved, and the ultimate decision-making discussions that lead to successful outcomes.
