Environmental Quality Index Webinar Archive

Map illustrating the Environmental Quality IndexDanelle Lobdell presented EPA's Environmental Quality index, which was produced through data reduction approaches to help improve statistical efficiency, while simultaneously summarizing information on the wider environment humans are exposed to. An EQI for all counties in the United States for the time period 2000-2005 was developed, which incorporated data for air, water, land, built, and socio-demographic. The primary goal in creating the EQI was to use it as a composite environmental indicator for research on human health.
