PFAS Removal in Drinking Water Treatment Systems Training Webinar Archive

This webinar, recorded on August 6, 2020, featured Thomas Speth, Associate Director of the Center for Environmental Solutions and Emergency Response (CESER), and Jonathan Burkhardt, Environmental Engineer in CESER, presenting on “PFAS Removal in Drinking Water Treatment Systems ” This webinar provides an overview of background treatment issues when removing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in drinking water treatment systems and the EPA models that are available to the public, along with examples of how they can be used. The information generated from the models can provide states and utilities with a better understanding of the fundamentals of carbon adsorption and what that means to the operation, performance, and costs associated with the technology.

Access the Drinking Water Treatability Database for information on treatment processes for controlling contaminants.

Access the Environmental Technologies Design Option Tool which provides engineers with the capability to evaluate and design systems that use granular activated carbon or ion exchange resins for the removal of contaminants, including PFAS, from drinking water and wastewater.
