Chesapeake Bay Compliance and Enforcement Strategy, May 2010

Under Executive Order 13508, EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance developed a Chesapeake Bay Compliance and Enforcement Strategy to address non-compliance with environmental laws and associated environmental impacts to the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Includes summaries of the health of the Bay, significant pollutants and their sources and proposed uses of EPA’s compliance and enforcement tools to target pollution sources impairing the Bay watershed.  Also includes a summary of which significant pollutants and sources are regulated by federal environmental statutes and sector strategies.

Elements of the Chesapeake Bay Compliance and Enforcement Strategy are implemented by EPA Regions 2, 3, 4 and 5.
