Tim Watkins

Tim WatkinsTimothy (Tim) H. Watkins is the Director of EPA's Center for Environmental Measurement and Modeling. Tim has also served as Acting Deputy National Program Director for the Air, Climate, and Energy research program in the EPA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD); Acting Director of the Environmental Public Health Division (EPHD) in EPA’s National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory (NHEERL); Deputy Director of the Human Exposure and Atmospheric Sciences Division (HEASD) in EPA's National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL); and Director of NERL.

Tim’s expertise and interests lie in the area of air pollution exposure assessment, including ambient air monitoring, personal monitoring, source apportionment, and air quality and exposure modeling. He has supported some specific collaborative activities involving monitoring and modeling, including collaborative efforts between EPA and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to support CDC’s Environmental Public Health Tracking program. He also serves as co-chair of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the U.S.-Canada Air Quality Committee. Tim has worked with EPA since 1990. He received his M.S. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Rollins College.
