Research Triangle Park (RTP) Speakers Bureau
Bringing U.S. EPA to your class or organization
EPA’s Community Engagement & STEM Education Program in Research Triangle Park (RTP) communicates EPA science to students, educators, and the public with the goal of increasing the public’s knowledge on how protecting the environment protects human health. Our outreach takes place in a variety of venues, including schools, universities, the community, the EPA-RTP campus, and educator conferences. The Speaker's Bureau is a free resource for groups in central N.C., with a focus on low-income schools (50%+ free/reduced lunch) to help close the opportunity gap and build capacity for a more diverse workforce. We also offer EPA campus tours for groups, provide judges for science competitions, and host EPA booths at schools and community events. EPA speakers in the classroom can typically work with a maximum of 30 students at a time for presentations and interactive activities.
