Drinking Water Regulations Under Development or Review
The EPA is developing or reviewing regulations for certain drinking water contaminants. The public has many opportunities for involvement in EPA's rulemaking process. These range from stakeholder and early involvement meetings to review and commenting on formal rule proposals in the Federal Register.
EPA rulemaking also involves consultations with small businesses, tribal governments, and official committees established under the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). EPA publishes information about public meetings on proposed regulations and draft regulatory support documents that are open for comment in the Federal Register.
The following regulations are under development:
- Lead and Copper Rule Long-Term Revisions
- Potential Revisions to Microbial and Disinfection ByProduct Rules
The contaminant regulation(s) listed below are being reviewed. They may or may not be considered for revision in the future, depending on the outcome of the review.
