Summary of Northern Ada County (Boise) PM-10 Nonattainment Area Plan

Background

The Ada County, Boise, Idaho, area was designated nonattainment for PM10 and classified as moderate under the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. Idaho submitted a PM10 attainment plan on November 14, 1991, and submitted a revised SIP on December 30, 1994. EPA approved the plan on May 30, 1996 in (61 FR 27019 (PDF)(5 pp, 141K, About PDF)).

Summary

The plan relies on control strategies needed to assure attainment of the PM10 National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). The strategy focuses on control of residential wood burning.

Rules

  • Boise City Woodburning Ordinance and Boise City Burning Ban Enforcement Procedures, January 1, 1990
  • Wood Smoke Control Ordinances for the Cities of Garden City, Meridian, and Eagle, and for Unincorporated Ada County
