Chapter 9. General Regulations on Control of Emissions and Emission Standards

Section 927. Notification Required (Emergency Occurrences)
Approved by EPA 03/08/89 (54 FR 09795) at 52.970(c)(49) effective 05/08/89.

    Pursuant to LAC 33:III.505.A the department must be notified promptly of emergency occurrences or upsets that will substantially increase emissions.  Immediate telephone notification should be followed promptly by written notification, within seven calendar days, giving details of the occurrence and remedial actions.  Timely and appropriate follow-up reports should be made detailing methods and procedures to be used to prevent similar atmospheric releases.  Such notification does not imply the administrative authority will automatically grant an exemption to the source(s) of excessive emissions.
