Picture of Nena ShawNena ShawNena Shaw has worked in environmental law and policy for almost 25 years in both the public and private sectors. Nena is the Senior Advisor for EPA’s newly launched Smart Sectors Program. She has degrees from Duke University School of Law and the University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources and Environment. After her first stint at EPA, she worked as a corporate attorney for six years, five of those years at Hunton & Williams, where she represented corporate clients, including utilities, home builders, big-box retailers, and chemical manufacturers on environmental law issues primarily under the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act. At EPA, Nena has worked on regulatory and voluntary programs in the Office of Water, Office of Air, Region 3, Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance, the immediate office of the Office of the Administrator, and as Acting Director of the Office of Strategic Environmental Management in the Office of Policy, in addition to her current role in the Office of Policy.
