All SmartWay Shippers reduce their carbon footprints by choosing SmartWay Carriers to carry their freight. Many leading shippers reduce their transportation emissions and cut costs by cutting total number of miles a shipper’s goods travel or reducing weights of shipments. Emissions can also be reduced by shifting shipments to less energy-intensive modes of transport. This webinar discussed a few examples of such activities and showed how their benefits can be quantified for inclusion in the SmartWay Shipper Tool, or anywhere else a shipper wishes to publicize its carbon reduction efforts.
