Trade Associations

Name About the Association
Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Exit AGC is the largest construction trade association in the United States.  In partnership with the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, AGC provides the Construction Industry Compliance Assistance (CICA) tool for contractors. C&D debris resources, including recycling information, are available within its own tab on the side panel of this main CICA website.
Construction and Demolition Recycling Association (CDRA) Exit CDRA is an association devoted exclusively to the needs of the North American C&D debris processing and recycling industry.
Build Reuse Exit Build Reuse, formerly known as the Building Materials Reuse Association (BMRA), is a nonprofit, membership-based organization that represents companies and organizations that acquire and sell used building materials and companies that reprocess and recycle building materials. Build Reuse maintains an online directory of used building materials organizations, contractors, deconstruction, and reuse-related organizations for all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
National Demolition Association (NDA) Exit NDA represents contractors that manage demolition debris, including its disposal and recycling.

The Recycled Materials Resource Center (RMRC) Exit RMRC is a national center created to promote the wise use of recycled materials (e.g., pavements, secondary, waste, byproduct materials) in the highway environment.
The ReUse People Exit Reuse People, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to reducing the solid waste stream entering our landfills by diverting and salvaging usable building materials and providing them to individuals, businesses and families, including low-income families in Mexico.
The Smart Growth Network The Smart Growth Network is a coalition of organizations (including EPA) that promote sustainable community development. Among the many topics captured on this website are sustainable materials management and green building.

Build Reuse Exit Build Reuse represents companies and organizations that acquire and sell used building materials and companies that reprocess and recycle building materials. Build Reuse maintains an online directory of used building materials organizations.
The Reuse Development Organization (ReDO) Exit ReDo is a nonprofit organization promoting reuse of numerous materials, including building products. ReDo lists hundreds of reuse centers that carry reused building materials.
Habitat for Humanity ReStores Exit Habitat for Humanity ReStores operate throughout the United States. ReStores sell used and surplus building materials that are donated from individuals, building supply stores, contractors, and demolition crews at bargain prices. The stores are run by local Habitat for Humanity affiliates; some operate their own deconstruction programs, while others rely on donations for obtaining materials.
GreenGoat Exit GreenGoat is a nonprofit that works with architects, general contractors, demolition companies, and waste removal contractors to facilitate the flow of used building materials back into other structures and even other industries.
