• Clean Ports USA
  An EPA initiative that promotes strategies to reduce emissions from diesel engines at marine ports.
• Commercial Marine Activity for Deep Sea Ports in the U.S., Final Report, September 1999
  A report designed to assist state and local air pollution control agencies in understanding commercial marine activity at deep sea ports, with data on marine port activities, different types of vessels, fuel use, and related information.
• In-Use Marine Diesel Fuel, EPA Report, August 1999
  A report that describes the fuel properties, particularly sulfur content, for different types and grades of marine diesel fuels, as well as use patterns for these fuels.
• Nonroad Engine and Vehicle Emission Study Report, November 1991
  A study that quantifies the contribution of various nonroad sources, including marine vessels, to air pollution.
• SmartWay Transport Partnership
  Participate in this program to provide incentives that will encourage retailers and the freight sector (truck, rail, ship, and air) to reduce emissions from the transport of freight.

• Port of Los Angeles Environmental Programs
  The Port of Los Angeles was the first port authority in the nation to create an Environmental Management Division in 1973. This site has various programs and documents for marine authorities.
• West Coast Diesel Collaborative Marine Vessels and Ports Workgroup
  A workgroup focused on alternative fuel use for vessels and on-shore equipment, equipment retrofits and early retirement, and cold ironing for ocean-going vessels and plug-in power for on-shore equipment.
