Energy Resources for State and Local Governments

Help My House Program Profile

The Help My House program, first piloted by a group of rural electric cooperatives located in South Carolina, helps participants reduce their utility bills by nearly 35 percent through low-cost loans for energy efficiency improvements that customers pay back over time. In this way the program eliminates up-front costs, one of the key barriers to improving energy efficiency in low-income households.

Help My House was designed to be a model that can be replicated by electric co-ops and other utilities throughout the nation. Learn more about the key features, approaches, partners, funding sources, and achievements of this program.
