Benzene NESHAP FAQ Handbook

In September 1989, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency promulgated National Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) to limit benzene emissions from several source categories. These source categories included benzene transfer (Subpart BB) and benzene waste operations (Subpart FF). Due to the complexity of these regulations, the EPA developed this Benzene NESHAP FAQ Handbook (1997) to improve the understanding of these subparts by compliance and enforcement personnel and members of the regulated community that already have a basic knowledge of what these NESHAPs require. The FAQ Handbook addresses typical questions that might arise involving compliance and enforcement in unusual or unique circumstances.
