Ethylene Oxide Commercial Sterilization and Fumigation Operations National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP)

Under sections 112(d) and 112(l) of the Clean Air Act (CAA), EPA provides guidance useful to EPA Regional Office and State and local agency personnel who will be responsible for implementing the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP). The purpose of this document is to provide these personnel with implementation materials to assist them in conducting complete and efficient inspections at ethylene oxide commercial sterilization and fumigation operations to determine compliance with the NESHAP.

The information provided in this document is intended as supplemental information to the regulated community. In case of any discrepancy between information provided in this document and the codified NESHAP for Commercial Ethylene Oxide Sterilization and Fumigation Operations (40 CFR Part 63, Subpart O), information contained in the codified standards will apply.
