Final Amendments for Pulp Mills Chemical Recovery Combustion Sources and Kraft Pulp Mills New Source Performance Standards

On November 5, 2020, EPA published the amendments to two rules: (1) the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Pulp Mills Chemical Recovery Combustion Sources, and (2) the New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) for Kraft Pulp Mills. The amendments correct cross-reference errors and clarify how operating limits are required to be established for SDT wet scrubbers. In addition, the agency is finalizing amendments to provide flexibility for monitoring requirements and improve regulatory clarity.
