Proposed Risk and Technology Review Amendments to Air Toxics Standards for Cyanide Chemical Manufacturing

On January 15, 2021, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed to amend the 2002 National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Cyanide Chemicals Manufacturing. EPA is proposing minor amendments to enhance the effectiveness of the rule by improving compliance and implementation.

Following a residual risk and technology review (RTR) conducted under the Clean Air Act (CAA) for the major sources, EPA is proposing several changes to the rule, summarized in the fact sheet below.
