Impaired Waters and TMDLs

Final Transmittal and Supporting Documents for Additions to West Virginia's 2012 Impaired Waters List

On March 25, 2013, the EPA partially approved and partially disapproved West Virginia’s (WV) 2012 303(d) list submittal. Specifically, EPA approved WV’s proposal to list 1,176 water quality limited segments as impaired. However, EPA disapproved WV’s failure to review all readily available data and information and not list 255 water quality limited segments as not meeting water quality standards and needing a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL).

The following documents include: transmittal memo from EPA to WV, final list of waters added, response to comments document and copies of comments received by EPA.
