Revised Sediment TMDL for the Indian Creek Watershed in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania

EPA is revising the sediment TMDL for the Indian Creek Watershed, which was originally established in 2008 and voluntarily remanded in 2014 due to technical concerns.  EPA held two informational webinars in December 2014 and February 2016 to present the Indian Creek sediment allocations project to stakeholders.  On August 3, 2017, EPA held a stakeholder meeting focused on the sources and existing loads of sediment within Indian Creek which will inform development of sediment TMDL load allocations for point and nonpoint sources.  On March 22, 2018, EPA presented draft sediment allocation scenarios to the stakeholder group for feedback. EPA plans to present the draft TMDL for public comment in late 2018. Throughout this process, EPA aims to gain consensus regarding sediment loading in the Indian Creek Watershed and establish a path forward to develop appropriate sediment TMDL wasteload and load allocations.

Below is the Draft Indian Creek Existing Sediment Loads Report, which estimates existing sediment loads for all sources within the watershed. Additional resources, including data used in the water quality model and analysis, can be found by clicking the links below.
