Vehicles and Engines

• Automotive Trends Report: This report provides information about new light-duty vehicle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, fuel economy, technology data, and auto manufacturers' performance in meeting the agency’s GHG emissions standards.
• Certification and Compliance for Vehicles and Engines: provides compliance information to the vehicle and engine industry about certifying vehicles and engines through EPA, including paying fees and reporting to ensure compliance.
• Compliance and Fuel Economy Data: provides information about test data regarding vehicles emissions and fuel economy and how those certified emission levels and fuel economy label estimates are determined.

Fuels and Fuel Additives

• SmartWay: helps the freight transportation sector improve supply chain efficiency. SmartWay reduces transportation-related emissions, environmental risks for companies and increases global energy security.

• Verified Technologies for SmartWay and Clean Diesel: provides information on evaluations and verifications of the emission reduction capabilities and durability of emission reduction technologies. 

Modeling, Testing and Research

• Estimating On-Road Greenhouse Gas Emissions: provides resources for state and local planners interested in estimating on-road greenhouse gas emissions and assessing the impact of specific travel efficiency strategies.
• Greenhouse Gas Emissions Model (GEM) for Medium- and Heavy- Duty Vehicle Compliance: estimates greenhouse gas emissions and fuel efficiency performance of specific aspects of heavy-duty vehicles.
• Light-Duty Models for Greenhouse Gas Emissions: lists light-duty models related to greenhouse gas emissions.
• Mobile Source Emission Factors Research: provides Information on mobile source emission factors research being conducted by EPA.
• MOVES and other Models: provides information about EPA’s current official model for estimating air pollution emissions from cars, trucks, motorcycles and nonroad equipment.
• Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Testing: (EPA’s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory) supports regulatory implementation, compliance and enforcement at a national level. Staff at NVFEL evaluate emission control technology, test vehicles, engines and fuels, and determine compliance with federal emissions and fuel economy standards.
