Clean Air Act: Summary of Content for Applicability for TAS for Titles I, III and V

The EPA’s Tribal Authority Rule (TAR) provides federally recognized tribes the opportunity to pursue tribal implementation of certain portions of the Clean Air Act (CAA). The purpose of this document is to:

  • provide a synopsis of the content of the CAA Titles I, III and V, key programs in the Act where tribes frequently express interest; and,
  • highlight individual sections of the Act commonly used for tribal management seeking treatment in a similar manner as a state (TAS) status.
