Tribal Waste Journal: Sustainable Materials Management - Food, Built Environment, Recycling

Issue 11 of the Tribal Waste Journal, Sustainable Materials Management- Food, Built Environment, Recycling focuses on sustainable materials management (SMM). SMM is a systemic approach to using and reusing materials more productively over their entire life cycles. By looking at a product's entire life cycle, we can find new opportunities to reduce environmental impacts, conserve resources and reduce costs. This issue highlights the work of sustainable management of food from Haskell Indian Nations University, the built environment from Miigwech Aki and the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe and recycling efforts from the Choctaw Nation. This issue also includes general SMM information, kids activities and a funding and technical assistance resources section.
