2018 Urban Waters National Training Workshop

The 2018 Urban Waters National Training Workshop (NTW) is a national training and learning conference to share and learn from other innovators and diverse urban waters leaders about how they are working across sectors. The 2018 NTW will focus on three major areas: Going Green, Meaningful Sate and Community Engagement, and Public Private Partnerships. These areas were identified in the 2016 Workshop as areas the community and our partners would like the Urban Waters Federal Partnership to focus on in he future.

Going Green sessions include:

  • Building Parks and Public Spaces for resilent Communities
  • Green Jobs: building Futures
  • Green Infrastructure and Sormwater management
  • Building capacity for Natural Disaster Planning response and recovery

Meaningful Sate and Community Engagement sessions include:

  • Sustaining Effective and Inclusive UW Partnerships
  • Toward Water Equity: Challenges, Tools and Approaches
  • Bringing Research and Tools into Decision-making on Nutrient Challenges
  • Engaging States in Urban Water Partnerships

Public Private Partnerships sessions include:

  • Signature Project Case Study: 11th Street Bridge Project
  • Role of Public Water Utilies - Partnering with EJ Communities
  • Lessons Learned: Best Practices for Public-Private Partnerships
  • Economic Development and Equitable Land Development
