New Urban Waters Ambassador

Traycee Verdun-Chapman is the new ambassador at the Meramec and Bic River location. Traycee is a Community Planner for the St. Louis District US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). In this role, she is a member of the Meramec River Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility Study project team. Ms. Chapman is enthusiastic about being the Urban Waters Ambassador for the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the congruence of intitiatives between USACE and EPA. Ms. Chapman's experience spans almost 20 years in water resources management and safe, affordable housing development.

2014

May 2014 -- The Nature Conservancy issued the Meramec River Conservation Action Plan, a blueprint that unifies conservation efforts in the Meramec River Basin. The plan comprehensively identifies and prioritizes:

  1. target conservation resources
  2. current health of those resources
  3. problems affecting the resources
  4. the source of these problems
  5. the best actions to maximize the benefit and long term impacts
