Petroleum Brownfields: Developing Inventories

(EPA 510-R-09-002). May 2009.

EPA developed this 34-page document to help states, tribes, and petroleum brownfields stakeholders develop an inventory of low-risk, petroleum-contaminated brownfields properties. The purpose of this document is to enhance communication among stakeholders and facilitate opportunities for redeveloping petroleum brownfield sites. Section I identifies petroleum brownfields inventories as a tool for building and promoting a brownfields program. Section II outlines considerations for building an inventory. Section III discusses best practices from stakeholders who have implemented a petroleum brownfields inventory.
