Remanufacture Systems for Category 1 and 2 Marine Diesel Engines

EPA maintains a list of remanufacture systems, or “kits”, certified for use with Category 1 and 2 marine diesel engines according to the provisions of 40 CFR Part 1042, Subpart I, and is periodically updated.

A list of approved methods (Remanufacture Kits) for large Category 3 marine diesel engines is maintained by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as per regulation 13.7.1 of Annex VI of the MARPOL Protocol (Marine Pollution or Protocol of 1978 relating to the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships).
