On October 9, 2014, EPA hosted industry, government, and automotive experts at the 2014 showcase. 

On October 9th, 2014, EPA's National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory (NVFEL) hosted the second Vehicle Technology Showcase to highlight innovative technologies being brought to market to improve fuel economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Agenda

Opening Remarks:

Christopher Grundler, Director of EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ).

Keynote Address:

Janet McCabe, Presidential Nominee and Acting Assistant Administrator of EPA's Office of Air and Radiation.

Vehicle Technology Displays:

Advanced technology vehicles and components including Electric Vehicles, Hybrid, Clean Diesel, Gasoline Direct Injection, Alternative Fuels, Stop-Start, and more were displayed.

Fuel Economy and Carbon Dioxide Emissions Overview:

Aaron Hula, a Policy Advisor for OTAQ, presented an analysis of the 2014 Light-Duty Automotive Technology, Carbon Dioxide Emissions, and Fuel Economy Trends Report.

Panel Discussion:

The conversation addressed the progress in greenhouse gas emissions and fuel economy through powertrain technologies. Featured speakers included representatives from Mazda, Tesla, The Natural Resource Defense Council, Borg Warner, and The International Council on Clean Transportation.
