All 3.0-Liter Diesel Engine Vehicles Affected

November 20, 2015 - All Volkswagen 3.0-Liter Diesel Vehicles Affected

On November 2, 2015, EPA issued to Volkswagen AG, Audi AG, Porsche AG, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., and Porsche Cars North America, a Notice of Violation (NOV) for certain 2014, 2015, and 2016 vehicles with 3.0 liter diesel engines and alleged that these vehicles included defeat devices.

During a meeting on November 19, 2015 VW and Audi officials told EPA that the issues EPA identified in the November 2nd NOV extend to all 3.0 liter diesel engines from model years 2009 through 2016. EPA and CARB will continue to investigate and will take all appropriate action.

Affected vehicle models and model years are:

  • Volkswagen Touareg (2009-2016)
  • Porsche Cayenne (2013-2016)
  • Audi A6 Quattro (2014-2016)
  • Audi A7 Quattro (2014-2016)
  • Audi A8 (2014-2016)
  • Audi A8L (2014-2016) 
  • Audi Q5 (2014-2016)
  • Audi Q7 (2009-2016)
