Waste Reduction Model (WARM) Resources for Students

Do you want to implement a composting or recycling program in your school? Ever wonder what the benefit of recycling one water bottle or soda can is?  The Waste Reduction Model (WARM) can help. WARM can show you the energy and greenhouse gas benefits from recycling part of your school’s waste stream rather than having it hauled to a landfill.

EPA offers additional resources to take things further:

  • iWARM – this related tool can tell you that recycling two aluminum cans is the energy equivalent of running your laptop for 11 hours.
  • Recycling – find tips and tricks to reduce, reuse and recycle.
  • Carbon Footprint Calculator – calculate the environmental impacts of the choices you make every day.
