Water Treatment and Transport Research

water treatment facility

Structures used for the treatment and transport of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater are referred to as water infrastructure. Many locations across the country are suffering from aging, inefficient or ineffective water infrastructure. EPA research provides the science and engineering to improve and evaluate promising innovative technologies and techniques to reduce the cost and improve the effectiveness of operation, maintenance, and replacement of aging and failing drinking water and wastewater treatment and conveyance systems.
