Efficient Irrigation Practices for Medians and Park Strips This webinar was cosponsored by WaterSense and the Alliance for Water Efficiency. The East Bay Municipal Utility District in Oakland, California, discussed challenges managing drip irrigation on park strips and inclines, as well as opportunities to improve these systems’ efficiency. The Oklahoma City (Oklahoma) Utilities Department talked about how it partnered with a local non-profit and a landscape company to retrofit median irrigation systems and address high water pressure and low distribution uniformity across the median and approaches to using WaterSense labeled pressure regulating spray bodies and efficient nozzles. Finally, Denver Botanic Gardens (Colorado) discussed plant selection for median and sidewalk strips. |
