WATERS Program Data

GIS from the Reach Address Database (RAD) must be joined/linked to corresponding program attributes using the below "Relational Key" information. The relational key for the RAD features is either source_featureid alone or a combination of source_originator, source_featureid and start_date/cycle_year.

To join 303(d) program attribute information to the Listed As Impaired Waters events Download the Listed Impaired Waters event GIS datafile for a given state from the RAD download page. Download the corresponding Listed Impaired Waters (303(d)) attribute information from the WATERS Expert Query Tool in either a comma separated file (.CSV) or a tab delimited file (.TAB). Take both the event shapefile and the attribute database file into a GIS software package such as ArcGIS Desktop, and link the attribute information to the GIS datafile using the LIST_ID field (see "Relational Keys" field in the table below for the correct field to use for other programs) in the attribute information table and the source_featureid field in the GIS datafile.

To join 303(d) program attribute information to the Listed As Impaired Waters events

Download the Listed Impaired Waters event GIS datafile for a given state from the RAD download page.
Download the corresponding Listed Impaired Waters (303(d)) attribute information from the WATERS Expert Query Tool in either a comma separated file (.CSV) or a tab delimited file (.TAB).
Take both the event shapefile and the attribute database file into a GIS software package such as ArcGIS Desktop, and link the attribute information to the GIS datafile using the LIST_ID field (see "Relational Keys" field in the table below for the correct field to use for other programs) in the attribute information table and the source_featureid field in the GIS datafile.
