Access the Water Contaminant Information Tool

The Water Contaminant Information Tool (WCIT) is a database with information on over 800 drinking water and wastewater contaminants, including pathogens, pesticides, and toxic industrial chemicals.

Users have to register with EPA before obtaining access to WCIT.  Since WCIT is a secure tool, access is limited to:
  • Drinking water and wastewater utilities
  • Public health officials and laboratories
  • Government laboratories
  • State drinking water primacy agencies and their subsidiaries
  • EPA and other federal agencies
  • Certain water associations
