The Water Laboratory Alliance Response Plan (WLA-RP) helps individuals lead a coordinated laboratory response during water contamination incidents.
The WLA-RP focuses on contamination incidents that may require more support than a utility, state, or federal laboratory can provide alone. However, the WLA-RP can also work for local responses with just one laboratory. The WLA-RP fits within existing Incident Command System structures and procedures.
The WLA-RP helps labs to:
- Communicate and coordinate with laboratories
- Establish procedures for laboratory activities such as sample handling and shipping
