Water Reuse Action Plan
The National Water Reuse Action Plan (WRAP) is a coordinated and collaborative effort across the water user community to advance consideration of water reuse to ensure the security, sustainability, and resilience of our nation’s water resources.
On February 27, 2020, EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler and other federal, state, and local water leaders announced the release of the National Water Reuse Action Plan: Collaborative Implementation (Version 1). Safe and reliable water supplies for human consumption, agriculture, business, industry, recreation, and healthy ecosystems are critical to our nation’s communities and economy. Water reuse can improve the security, sustainability, and resilience of our nation’s water resources, especially when considered at the watershed or basin scale.
Collaborative Implementation (Version 1)
After one year of focused effort to catalyze action and promote collaboration across the water user community, the EPA and other partners announced the release of the National Water Reuse Action Plan: Collaborative Implementation (Version 1).
This Action Plan (Version 1) identifies action leaders, partners, implementation milestones, and target completion dates for 37 actions across 11 strategic themes. These actions represent initial momentum and serve as a catalyst for additional partnerships and subsequent actions to strengthen and diversify the Nation’s water resources.
Information for the actions included in Action Plan (Version 1) is available in two forms:
-
Printed Publication: A print version that profiles actions with committed leaders and summary-level information about each action implementation plan.
-
WRAP Online Platform: A web-based repository that includes all actions (developed and undeveloped) and full action implementation plan text, where applicable.
The WRAP Online Platform will undergo routine updates on each action’s progress and serve a variety of functions, including to communicate ongoing activity and create accountability for action progress.
For more information about how to get involved with the National Water Reuse Action Plan, please reach out to action leaders and partner, or EPA's designated set of action points of contact.
