Project Description

The Brunswick County Northwest Water Treatment Plant project will add advanced treatment processes that can reliably remove harmful contaminants that have been identified in the source water (includeing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), 1,4-dioxane, herbicides, endocrine disruptors, and other pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) and expand the Northwest WTP from 24-million gallons per day (MGD) to 36-MGD to keep up with growth in Brunswick County. The primary purpose of the project is to protect public health and ensure access to clean and safe drinking water and ensure sufficient water to meet the demands of the growing Brunswick County population.
