Population Served by Project: 729,000
Project Type: Drinking Water
Project Description
The Water Infrastructure Renewal Program will focus on four key areas: 1) improving resiliency issues at the County’s sole water treatment plant; 2) replacing aging water distribution system pipes that are contributing to pipe failures and leaks; 3) creating new pressures zones that better manage extreme system pressures; and 4) increasing system capacity to improve fire flow pressures, reduce system velocities, and support projected future demands. The purpose of the projects is to provide redundancy in water storage and transmission, eliminate potential single points of failure, increase reliability in water treatment plant equipment, and enable the water treatment plant to function when process units are out of service.
