Project Type: Drinking Water
The Huntington Beach Desalination Plant Project will construct a seawater desalination facility that would convert seawater into 50 million gallons per day (MGD) of potable drinking water using a reverse osmosis desalination process. The purpose of the project is to provide high-quality, locally-controlled, drought-proof drinking water. It will meet approximately 10 percent of Orange County residents' water demands and protect the County against the public health, security and economic consequences of water shortages. You may need a PDF reader to view some of the files on this page.
