Project Description

The Alternative Water Source Program will construct infrastructure needed to access a new source for drinking water to replace the City's reliance of current primary water source, the deep sandstone aquifer. The purpose of the project is to provide a sustainable source of drinking water for the City of Joliet and potentially the region. The aquifer currently supplying Joliet’s wells will not meet maximum day demands by 2030.
