Population Served by Project: 210,000
Project Type: Water Reuse
Project Description
The Aquifer Storage Recovery Project will include the following enhancements to the City's recycled water system: 1) increase its capacity from the current 6.25 million gallons per day (MGD) to 12.5 MGD; 2) construct six aquifer and storage recovery wells; 3) install a 20-inch diameter distribution pipeline to convey recovered groundwater from the aquifer and storage recovery wells to three existing water blending stations; and 4) upgrade blending stations. The purpose of the project is to optimize and expand the City’s Advanced Water Purification Facility production in combination with aquifer storage and recovery operations to increase local water supply availability and reliability and improve overdraft and water quality conditions of the Oxnard Basin. The project will improve the City’s long-term supply reliability even during times of drought.
