Project Description

The Pure Water Monterey project will produce up to 10,350 acre feet per year of new water by recycling wastewater. The purpose of this project is to replenish the Seaside Groundwater Basin with purified recycled water and reduce pumping from the over-drafted Salinas Valley Groundwater Basin by increasing recycled water production for food crop irrigation. It will also strengthen the resiliency of regional water supplies and enhance habitats in the watershed by restoring flows or removing pollutants.
