Project Description

The Advanced Water Purification Project will treat the East County’s wastewater locally and implement potable reuse by providing Advanced Water Purification treated water to Lake Jennings for surface water augmentation. The purpose of this project is to beneficially reuse the East County wastewater flows to create a new source of local, safe, reliable and drought-proof water supply and reduce the need for imported water. The project will treat 15 million gallons per day (MGD) of wastewater and produce up to 30 percent of East County’s water demand.
