Silicon Valley Regional Environmental Sewer Conveyance Upgrade Phase 2

Borrower: Silicon Valley Clean Water
Location: Redwood City, California
Invited WIFIA Loan Amount: $38 million
Population Served by Project: 225,000

Project Type: Wastewater

Project Description

The Regional Environmental Sewer Conveyance Upgrade Phase 2 Program will consist of three projects: 1) gravity pipeline tunnel construction; 2) front of plant improvements; and 3) pump station replacement or rehabilitation. EPA closed a $218M WIFIA loan with Silicon Valley for this project in 2019, and Silicon Valley is seeking additional funding. The purpose of the project is to replace the 1960's-era conveyance system that is beyond its typical useful life and cannot reliably and safely convey future wastewater flows of up to 108 million gallons per day (MGD).
