Project Description

The Vista Grande Drainage Basin Improvement Project will address storm-related flooding in the Vista Grande Drainage Basin while providing the additional benefit of augmenting the water level of Lake Merced. The purpose of the project is to improve stormwater drainage and minimize flooding risk, provide a water source for Lake Merced management to mitigate localized groundwater pumping, and improve recreational access and reduce litter deposition at the beach below Fort Funston.
