Water Quality Standards Regulations: Quinault Indian Nation

Authority to Administer Standards Program

The Quinault Indian Nation was granted treatment in a manner similar to a state (TAS) on September 20, 2018.

EPA approved the Quinault Indian Nation’s application for TAS for Clean Water Act (CWA) Sections 303(c) Water Quality Standards (WQS) and 401 Certification programs for all waters within the boundaries of the Quinault Indian Reservation. EPA determined that the Quinault Indian Nation met the requirements of CWA Section 518(e) and 40 C.F.R. § 131.8, and therefore approved the tribe's application.
